Andrew has been an associate of the practice since 2000, and has led design teams on a wide variety of sizes and types of projects. These include Thames Tower offices; Wrexham Football Club mixed use scheme; Lambs Club residential; Zushi restaurant; and 400NCR office & industrial scheme. He has also played a key role in competition entries such as "Cardiff 2055" and the "House of the Future".
Andy heads up the practice’s commitment to, and understanding of, sustainable design; a subject which he has been interested in since his thesis at the Welsh School of Architecture (WSA) in the mid ’90’s. Since then, he graduated from the WSA and De Montfort University as what was believed to be the UK’s youngest chartered architect, and is now working to achieve pragmatic, sustainable schemes in practice.
He is the chairman of the South Wales branch of the Royal Society of Architects in Wales, having initiated its re-establishment. Andy is also a member of the Concrete Society and of the ’Leadership Group’ of larger architectural practices, as well as a contributor to the Design Commission for Wales on sustainability. Within Gaunt Francis, he is in charge of the IT side of Gaunt Francis’ operations and deals with the PR requirements of the Cardiff office.
