Gaunt Francis were highly acclaimed for our vision of an environmental capital city in the Cardiff 2055 design competition.

The scheme envisaged fingers of green space expanding the existing parks to provide routes through the city, as well as proposing the completion of the Severn Barrage to once more turn Cardiff in to an exporter of fuel to the world. Terraced housing is transformed to provide highly sustainable, contemporary mass housing whilst retainin the character of the city.

The scheme was presented to architects and designers from South Wales as part of Cardiff’s centenary celebrations to much acclaim, and featured in the national press as a positive vision of the future for the city.
