Slinfold Golf and Country Club approached us to expand its facilities significantly. As existing, the golf club has changing rooms and a members bar. The proposed expansion provides indoor tennis courts, a health club and swimming pool, overnight guest accommodation and on-site housing as well as rationalised services out buildings.

Our proposals used an elegant, expressed timber frame truss to form an overall building envelope in keeping with the buildings of the area. Central to this is a new main entrance fed from a new, improved access route and car parking arrangements. Within this architecturally refined envelope, the accommodation, health club and pool are subtly distinguished to give the building greater depth without detracting from its initial impact.

Set slightly apart from the main building, th indoor tennis courts and service buildings are discretely arranged to complete the scheme and achieve the client’s needs of separation.
