Gaunt Francis was commissioned to make feasibility proposals for the re-cladding of the main tower block on the Pera (Production & Research association) site in Melton Mowbray.
Following our initial proposals, we were invited to also look at the Technology Block building. As part of our report, we produced computer generated visuals to help the client understand the visual impact of the changes.
We also undertook basic environmental analysis to prove that over cladding could help solve some summer overheating and glare problems experienced by occupants.
Following a favourable response from the client, we were invited to make further revised proposals in competition with other practices on the basis of a lower overall budget. In order to maximise the visual impact but retain the environmental credentials of the scheme, proposed a "greening" of the building using climbing plants and vertical planting.
