We have created a development a framework across the whole estate which seeks to significantly improve all public realm elements; to introduce greater permeability and accessibility throughout the estate and to replace the significant but vacant office buildings with a mixed use office and residential development.
In addition we are proposing a 23 storey new build elliptical tower in the centre of the estate, to help create the funding necessary to carry out the public realm works, as well as providing a critical mass of new residential accommodation.
We have the full support of CABE, the GLA and the Pool of London Partnership, and are currently in final discussions with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets Planners. Some 180 new build residential apartments are proposed, together with a new build 200,000 Sq ft office building and the creation of various other conversions and mixed use schemes around the docks
